‘Kill All Koons’ Scrawled Across Black Indiana Church On Thanksgiving Day

Published by:

Just one month after a Mississippi church was burned to the ground, members of a predominantly Black church in Evansville, Indiana, discovered the message “Kill All Koons” scrawled across the sanctuary doors in chalk on Friday, according to the Evansville Courier & Press.

Vandals also wrote “Koons Inside” on the church van, the outlet reports. Members of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church believe someone carried out the act after the sanctuary’s annual Thanksgiving feast.

“I know there seems to be a rise across the country of ill will toward certain groups of people. But we keep preaching, we will overcome evil with good,” said Rev. Todd Robertson, the church’s pastor.

Robertson says he’s never seen anything like this in his 17 years as a pastor. He believes adversaries may have been riled up after watching the diverse selection of volunteers serve meals to over 300 less fortunate Evansville members on Thanksgiving Day.

“We hope the person will be turned in and held accountable,” he said.

This is the second act of vandalism enacted against Liberty Missionary Baptist Church. According to the Evansville Courier & Press, members found and cleared a threatening message found on the sidewalk near the church’s property three weeks …read more

How To Keep Extensions From Destroying Your Edges

Published by:

Extensions are an easy way to keep your hair protected for weeks on end while creating fun and versatility in your routine. The drawback, like most protective styling, comes with the constant tugging of the hair, particularly at your edges! Routine cleansing, deep conditioning, and even taking hair supplements are some best practices for keeping your hair full and healthy, but when sporting extensions, taking extra care of your edges becomes a lot more important. Check out these best practices while rocking your favorite weave and ensure your edges are laid and more importantly, healthy! …read more

Aaron Hernandez Sues Over Hacked Jailhouse Phone Calls

Published by:

AaronHernandezAP

BOSTON (AP) — Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez has sued a company that records jailhouse phone calls after an unknown person apparently listened to some of his calls.

The lawsuit filed in federal court in Boston charges Dallas-based Securus Technologies Inc. with negligence, breach of contract and invasion of privacy.

It demands that Securus provide an account of how the conversations were accessed, how many were heard and who listened.

The suit says the company’s “electronic database” was breached and “an unauthorized party obtained improper access” to Hernandez’s phone recordings.

The calls were hacked in 2014 while Hernandez was in a Boston jail awaiting trial in the killing of Odin Lloyd, the boyfriend of Hernandez’s fiancee’s sister. Hernandez was convicted and sentenced to life in prison with no parole and is awaiting trial in the unrelated double homicide of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston in 2012.

The Suffolk Sheriff’s Department, which oversees the jail, has confirmed the calls were hacked.

Securus records all phone calls in and out of the jail, except for those protected by attorney-client privilege. It has since tightened security.

Leonard Freiman, an attorney for Securus, told the Boston Herald the company plans to respond to the …read more
