Published by:

Knowing how to love yourself is very important. Self-love is the foundation of our well-being, happiness, self-motivation, joy, contentment, stability, and our ability to create and enjoy the kind of life that we want. We cannot be content and happy, if we are not at peace with ourselves and in love with who God made us to be.

Once we turn our attention inward, we are then able to experience a spiritual connection with ourselves and God. When we experience ourselves as “spirit,” or “one with God,” then we can begin to discover that we are love because God is also love; if we are Christians or God-like, then we are love as well.

Self-Love Starts at the Beginning

According to GoodTherapy.org, self-love develops early on in life. Parents or caretakers are responsible for showing unconditional love and providing positive reinforcement to their children. Self-love also develops through early relationships with siblings and peers. It is often measured via one’s achievements or capabilities, and it is relative to our sense of commitment, purpose, and motivation in life. If a child is damaged by feelings of insignificance or lack of self-worth, this can set that person up for a lifetime …read more

Since the beginning of the game Cleveland started aggressively, imposing their dominance with a lead of 14 points at the end of the first quarter with a score of 33-19. In the second quarter, the Cavaliers continued their supremacy in the score and even Mo Williams closed the first half with a 67-feet away three-point shot at the buzzer putting the score 63-48.

Bill Cosby’s Daughter Evin Cosby Defends Him: ‘He Deserves Better Than This’

Published by:

Months before Bill Cosby’s sexual assault trial, one of his daughters is publicly defending him saying that he has been unfairly deemed as a rapist.

In a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter, Evin Cosby stressed that her comedian father is innocent of the charges brought against him and that he “deserves better” than the way he is being treated.

“I am his fourth daughter. He raised me to go to college, start my own business, and be my own woman. He is helping me raise my children and teach them family values. I know that my father loves me, loves my sisters and my mother,” she said. “He loves and respects women. He is not abusive, violent or a rapist.”

Evin added that the media’s cruelty has been hard on her and her family:

“I have two amazing children who love their grandfather. I already work hard as a single mother, with no full-time help, and with a career in fashion design, I am lucky that I have supportive friends that I call family because my children and I need that support. The public persecution of my dad, my kids’ grandfather, and the cruelty of the media and those …read more

Little Known Black History Fact: Muhammad Ali Refuses The Draft

Published by:

50 years ago, Muhammad Ali made a controversial decision that made headlines across the globe when he refused to be drafted into the U.S. Army citing he was a conscientious objector.

He refused on April 28, 1967 in Houston, Texas.but it wasn’t until 1971 when the Supreme Court reversed his conviction.

The Houston Chronicle‘s Craig Hlavaty reports:

Ali went before military induction officials inside Houston’s Military Entrance Processing Station building off San Jacinto and refused to step forward for induction when his name was called. He was later arrested. This came after Ali had made three separate appeals to have his draft status changed because of what he called his non-violent Muslim faith and membership in the Nation of Islam.

Ali’s boxing career spiraled out of control after his arrest, with the New York State Athletic Commission suspending his boxing license and the World Boxing Association stripping him of his world heavyweight title. This banned him from boxing in the United States.

(…)

On June 20, 1967, Ali was tried, convicted and sentenced in a Houston court to five years in prison for refusing to serve in the military and was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine for draft evasion. …read more
